Sunset Point

home and studio, HARPSWELL, ME.

This home was designed as a place to live and work now and retire in the future. The house is oriented to the views and carefully orchestrated fenestration captures prevailing summer breezes and light and heat from its southern exposure in the winter. Rooms are zoned independently, so that areas used primarily in the summer can be closed off, reducing heated area while providing an insulated buffer to the cold north winds. Local products, sustainable materials, and low VOC finishes were used throughout. Radiant floors provide an even and efficient heat source.
